internet marketing sales letters

Self-employed landscaper since 2002, wanting to return there or sales. How to explain in cover letter?
Here is my situation: Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems (GIS) and strategic management. Since graduating from college in 1996, I have worked both in pharmaceutical sales and technical integration of an Internet company. After being fired from a &^%#@. com in 2002, I decided that had enough of life in a cubicle. I took my life in the direction of 180 and started a landscaping company. With the explosive growth in the market housing, business was fantastic. Fast-forward to 2008, the company has taken a dive. I realized that the reason he went to college was to I could use my brain, not my body. I applied to several jobs and even tried to go ahead with some of the job placement companies. I still have to have an interview. Job placement companies have told me that they can not help since I have been out of the industry for so long. I'm only 34 .. Help!
Job placement firms are almost the same level as used car salesmen. They want to make a quick and easy game to make money fast. Everything requires effort and thinking outside the box is too much for them. Have you been in contact with any of his previous coworkers or former students of your career in college? If so, databases, contact them and let them know your situation. Their careers may have prospered over time and now may be able to influence in hiring decisions. My other idea is that you should avoid placing agenices and only respond directly to jobs in companies. You can find someone who sympathizes with their cause that has gone through career changes. This is a crazy idea … but there would be no value to the combination of industry experience professional? Like the construction of software for landscaping services? You can also try to find some experiences of volunteers from nonprofit agencies profit that could help pad his resume with some current IT projects. Nonprofit organizations also have connections with companies so that I could find someone who can help you land your dream job that way, too. Good luck,
